Cattle
Beef, offal and live bovine animals remain under the EU regulation, but today they cannot enter from Mexico: the block is due to the bovine residue control plan. Bovine leather has left the regulation since 18 September 2026.
If you export leather, the EU no longer asks for the location of the ranch for that product. If you export beef, offal, tongue, preserves or live animals for breeding or fattening, the EU does not admit them from Mexico today. Only the Mexican government can change that, before the European Commission. In the meantime, the regulation already asks for the location of every place the animal has been: preparing it now will help when the entry opens.

How the chain works, Mexico → EU
Route for meat and live animals:
Ranch or production unit. Breeding and fattening. The animal carries an identification tag.
Slaughterhouse or slaughter plant.
Mexican exporter.
Importer in the EU. Submits the DDS Submits the DDS before selling the product.
What they will ask you for
- Meat and live animals: one point (not a polygon) for each establishment where the animal was: ranch, pastures, holding pens and feedlot. Includes those in Mexico and in other countries.
- Leather: no DDS or ranch geolocation is requested for that product.
How we help
If your cattle go to the EU, we organize the points for each establishment and the data for the DDS, so they are ready when the entry opens. If you export leather, we tell you what remains under the regulation and what does not, so you do not do work that no longer applies.
